Playtech Licensees Make Headway In Spanish Market

by Renee Israel The global developer and licensor for top online gambling products, Playtech announced this week that its products are advancing into the Spanish online gambling market at a significant pace. The group said that a number of its licensees would be launching casino and poker products into the newly regulated Spanish market, with more due in the coming weeks. According to a press release by Playtech, its licensees under Spanish regulation "include a combination of existing licensees as well as local gaming and media companies aiming to leverage their market leading position and well recognised brands that appeal to local players." These groups including Bet365 which offers both casino and poker games to Spanish online gaming licensees, as well as groups such as William Hill and Poker 770. These licensees are now welcoming players to their sites and have been at the forefront of the newly regulated Spain online gambling market since it went live on June 1 this year. Spanish Market is Important to Playtech The Chief Executive Officer of Playtech, Mor Weizer commented on Playtech in the Spanish market: "We are excited to see our licensees launch in Spain," he said. The company's new online poker network, iPokerSpain.es was the first to launch under Spain's new internet gaming regulations. Playtech Advances to Premium Listing Moving closer to home, Playtech last week opened the London markets in a special ceremony at the London Stock Exchange, after it moved from AIM to the Main Market. Last month, Playtech announced that it would be making the move, after showing a market capitalisation of over £1 billion.
